Books Read – August 2014

Mini-reviews here (and films here). I’ve been reading quite a lot, finishing things off, which is my excuse for not posting very much this month, or answering people’s comments. Not a great lot this month – was expecting better perhaps. More interesting stuff next month, and hopefully some more thoughtful reviews – the McBride in particular. (Has Obooki finally found an English-language book by a living writer he actually likes? Is it the great and original work of art everyone says it? – I think, deep down, you know the answer already).

By accident I seem to be engaging in a stream-of-consciousness season. At least three already under way (along with the Goytisolo just past, I suppose); and I might throw in a few more in the next month or so.

Also a little project: details tomorrow, or in a few days.
